Commonly called The Pink or Queen Conch (Lobatus Gigas), these invertebrate mollusk, can be found in shallow waters where the Caribbean Sea meshes with the beautiful barrier reef, beaches and cayes of Belize.
These protected invertebrate mollusks can be fished legally (not scuba dived) if the shell is larger than seven inches, market cleaned flesh is more than three ounces and they are captured outside of the closed season: May 1 to September 30 annually.
Our commercial season is from October 1, 2021 to April 30, 2022 or upon realization of the catch quota approved by the Department of Fisheries in Belize.
